Way overdue review - our twins chose to celebrate 18th bday here over the summer. Place gets super busy - lots of celebrations, casual to dress-ish outfits. It was fun & interactive to grill meats tabletop, with fun rolls for our pescatarian daughter. Drinks also super creative and strong (yay). Highly recommend for fun (pricey) dinner out - def get reservations in advance.

Gyu Shige is a grill yourself Japanese BBQ restaurant. I went with one other person; ordering 5 dishes plus a bowl of rice to share was enough food for dinner. The meat was very tender and of good quality! The server was very thorough, explaining how long to grill everything, items that were off-menu, and the three dipping sauces. The sauces were a sweet soy, a garlic, and a spicy miso. The sauces weren't the most authentic tasting (soy one was quite sweet, and the miso tasted more of gochujang than Japanese miso.) The dishes ranged from $11-18 or so, which I felt was reasonable for the quality. There is no all you can eat. The store's ambiance is fairly standard for any grilling restaurant (darker with individual booths). They also have wagyu and sushi as well as appetizers on the menu, which we did not order.

The wagyu was outstanding and the uni as well. The peach oolong cake was also good and the perfect level of sweetness. The interior was cool and I also ordered drinks which were pretty good too and one came in this cat cup (not shown). The truffle rice was okay, nothing fancy

It's a lot less busy now and they've added new menu items. I am a big fan of the tongue. The ribs are also very good. I would pass on the seafood soup and the seafood pancake as it lacks a lot of punch you get if you were to go to a Korean restaurant. Do get some of the rolls. I really enjoyed their namesake roll. For some reason they gave us free mochi ice cream at the end of our last meal.

First time in tonight! It was packed around 7pm and we had no reservation but seated right away. We got seated and Kevin was our waiter. This man was awesome! He knew the menu well and recommended both drink and food options. He did not disappoint. We started with a sake per his recommendation and they also provide non alcoholic cocktails. The yuzu lychee lemonade was perfect for a summer day! The food is excellent and will definitely be back!

Certainly a higher end Japanese bbq place. This is one of those places where the server explains details around the dishes they serve. They have a bit of everything here from appetizers, to sushi to bbq. And it's not like the bbq is the only good thing. They go all out with the sushi too. What's really cool is they serve the sushi in a cloud of smoke! The bbq options are great too. It's a "cook it yourself" kind of place but servers always ask if you would like help. Though I felt the portion sizes were smaller than other bbq places, the quality is unparalleled. This is certainly a great place to come for a celebration. This is definitely a place you want to dine-in. Their drinks menu was also great. They have seasonal cocktails as well as beers from Japan.

We had a really good first meal at Gyu Shige!! We've been wanting to try it for a while now and are sad we waited this long to go. First the restaurant is really nice inside - and we were greeted by the whole staff when we walked in. They let you know you only have 90 mins for dinner. We started with the Tuna Lobster Caviar and Gyoza as appetizers. Both delicious! The gyoza was crispy and flavorful. The tuna melted in my mouth and had a delicious sauce. Then we moved onto dinner - such a fun experience cooking our own food. Just be careful to watch your food safety. Tip - use one tong for raw and one for cooked. The waiter cooked our lobster tails and bathed them in butter. Yum! We had several meats, seafood and vegetables. Some standouts were the miso salmon, garlic shrimp and filet mignon. They have Wagyu on the menu too but we decided not to splurge. We had great service and a really tasty meal! We'll be back.

Japanese-BBQ spot that also has a solid selection of drinks, apps, sushi options, and a few other things as well I came here for dinner with my GF on a Friday night. We made a reservation, but there was still a 10 minute wait for us to be seated. They made up for this by giving us each a free drink. Both of our drink were fantastic, but we would probably not have ordered them if they weren't complimentary because they were 15 & 20 dollars each They have a bunch of different options of meats/fishes that you can BBQ, each of which is ~$10-15 and has 3-5 pieces. Our waitress recommended 4 meats per person, so we opted to get 3 + a sushi role and a noodle dish to share between us. This was the perfect amount of food and everything was very delicious other than the sushi (which was still fine, but not amazing). Service was very attentive and friendly
